Midnight Blue

I made a pair of pants using Merchant and Mills’ “Eve” pattern. I was concerned they might need a lining but the fabric is opaque enough to use alone. I have been loving the navy colour and comfort of linen in the hot summer weather. Now to make a few more pairs in other linen colours!

Excellent quality linen at such a great price. I washed this linen in hot water and dried in the dryer and then decided to soak it in a baking soda solution for 36 hours. Results are a very soft linen with beautiful drape. My only complaint is that the blue leans toward the purple end of the spectrum, but not overwhelmingly so. So happy to find a linen supplier in Canada!

The linens from Pure Linen Envy have a very nice hand. I love how they feel compared to many others on the market which are somewhat itchy. These are not. This heavy weight is not as heavy as another 100% linen that I own, but it is a good weight for dresses and pants. I probably could have also used the medium weight for the dress that I made, so ordering samples is a good start if you have a particular project in mind.
